Enjoy this all-inclusive 6-day adventure safari including the opportunity to spend one day getting hands-on with rhinos in the wild assisting our Veterinarian team in collecting DNA samples (hair and blood samples), taking measurements, ear notching, micro-chipping and trimming the horns of rhinos that are at the highest risk of being poached. All of these protocols contribute to the protection of the species. Following the rhino rescue expedition you will enjoy 2 nights of being treated like a king at our luxury safari lodge where you will enjoy a variety of big 5 safari activities and gourmet cuisine. Installment 1 - $1,662 plus c/card fees (Due within 7 days after deposit is paid)

Installment 2 - $1,662 plus c/card fees (Due 7 days after Installment 1 is paid)

Installment 3 - $1,662 plus c/card fees (Due 7 days after Installment 2 is paid)

*Pricing is based on a group of 10 people. The cost will increase incrementally for smaller groups as per the below:
Group size: 8-9: $500 plus c/card fees extra per person
Group size: 6-7: $1,000 plus c/card fee extra per person

If a mimimum of 6 people in your travel group is not reached 3 months prior to the start of your group trip, you will be given the option to either join another travel group or to be refunded.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Once you land in Durban at King Shaka Airport, grab an Uber/taxi to our host hotel, Premier Hotel. Room check-in is open from 2pm. If you arrive earlier you can leave your bags at the front desk and explore the village of Umhlanga Rocks.

Day 2 After breakfast at 9am we depart on a 3 hour drive for our host safari lodge in Zululand (located 10 minutes from where we run our rhino rescue operations) arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent at leisure followed by dinner and some local entertainment.

Day 3 Rhino Rescue Expedition: Today you will join our Wildlife Management Team bright and early for a rhino dehorning, ear notching and medical check-up procedure. Rhino dehorning has proven to be an effective measure to deter rhino poaching. You will participate in a hands-on experience with rhinos in the wild. You will get up close to wild rhinos whilst assisting the team in collecting DNA samples (hair and blood samples) and taking measurements, all of this contributing to the protection of the species. The procedure is not harmful in any way and our veterinarians and wildlife management team are highly experienced ensuring the welfare of the rhinos during the procedure.


Day 4 After breakfast you will transfer to the Phinda private game reserve where you will spend the next 3 days/2 nights in luxury exploring one of South Africa most renowned reserves which is known for it's large cat populations. Sunrise game drive, brunch, optional walking safari, lunch, sunset game drive with sun-downers followed by dinner and entertainment. The optional "sleep under the stars" experience is available to book for those wanting to experience the soothing sounds of Africa while sleeping on comfortable luxury beds out on the savannah.

Day 6 Sunrise game drive, brunch, checkout at 11am in time to catch your flight back home or your connecting flight to Cape Town should you be extending your trip with us.
